True grit is good. John Wayne won an oscar for it.
Fact: My grandpa worked for Wayne as the skipper of his yacht (when "The Duke" wasn't on board). When the duke was filming, they just went wherever they wanted and fished all day.
As far as best western of all time: I'm partial to the Lonesome Dove mini-series with one of my all-time favorite actors, Robert Duvall.

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance is def one of my faves. High Noon is a pretty good one too. Fistful of Dollars of course and The Outlaw Josie Wales which I'm sure have been mentioned.
Love that the Three Amigos was mentioned. My favorite comedy of all time!
