InDesign CS3 - Mac (might with in win dos too)
Press down Alt, then double click on an image in your InDesign document, this will send you straight to Photoshop to edit that image you just clicked.
This have saved me tons of extra clicks.

Got another tip for password protected PDF's that can't be placed in InDesign etc.
1) Open the restricted PDF in ColorSync. ( Applications/Utilities )
2) Choose File: Save as, and name it whatever you like.
3) Password gone.- you have made my day dude! :)madirish

You probably already know this but in OSX you can zoom in if you hold down the control key while you use the mouse wheel or 2-fingered scroll on a laptop.

To rotate a pattern quickly in illy - Select the object with the pattern. Click your rotate tool, then press the ~ down and rotate that pattern.
