It's a very interesting issue at stake here. At which point the natives stop being the nativs and are "replaced" by those who became natives by coming in. Honestly if there was another war i wouldn't know which side to take.

^ true OBBTKN. Europe has been so savaged with war in the 20th Century. WW1, Spanish-Civil War, WW2, Cold-war, Serbian wars... It spanned for a century... I just listen to my old folks and I realise how lucky I am now, living in peace, since most of the 20th century was warfare... We don't want any more wars now. It's enough. Let us die of something else.

To some Kosovo's independence could be compared to if Mexicans in California all the sudden decided to proclaim their independence.
I'm not an expert on the issue, but i know it's not easy clean cut situation.

Natural gas/oil, mineral wealth, that sort of thing?
