I made a copy of a Jake & Dinos Chapman sculpture in 3D and printed it in resin. Ended up getting some nice comments from Jake on the post!
- Nice one. I was chided a few months back by someone i respect because I had absolutely no idea who these two local boys are :\Nairn
- lol @ me, they're not from Greco-central in North London. Where did I get that idea from? I'm not Cheltenham.Nairn
- How did you get the source data?Nairn
- ace, Jake's recent stuff has been fun. I think they've stopped working together now though.fadein11

- So impressive. This must have been such a great thing to work on. The lighting really brought the whole scene to life.CyBrainX
- Can you add a fireplace?CyBrainX
- that's sweet :) light is cleverly handled.
it looks quite monumental, but at the same time very inviting and friendly on the inside.sted - is that real real laminated floor or pvc with wood pattern?sted
- I did some of these for big pharma in the past; never understood why they destroy everything after the events.maquito
- Thanks :) It's a laminate floor. At ground level the header isn't as imposing, but it's great for viewing from a distance above the crowds.monospaced
- ∞budget? :D whatever, that fits the quality of this build :)sted
- @maquito because that money will have to be spent next year anyway, it would be a bit difficult to rebuild this, and there is the amortization.sted
- I had to make some re-usable booth designs for an EU tour, there is no joy in that. and it really sux getting the same size space at each exhibition.sted
- We do keep the logos for future use, and the integrated display panels are rented. We leverage modular systems for normal trade show booths to limit waste.monospaced

- There’s a “theater cube” on the left end that’s basically a room with high res seamless led panels covering the walls and floors. That’s where my animation goesmonospaced

Quite a production.ideaist - sweet!YakuZoku

- Nice!! Congratsmaquito
- PWC must be a great company to work at.. My father worked at PWC for 40 years. Only job he had out of college.hotroddy
- So the header looks like it’s floating because it’s just fabric wrapped frame that is very light with some clever counter balancing.monospaced
- The booth is deep. There are 6 conference rooms, demo rooms and a kitchen back there.monospaced
- I collaborate with a firm in London who architects and builds my vision. It’s been quite a journey this one.monospaced
- you have an architectural degree? or who signs off the architecture plans?sted
- Not at all. I’m just branding this. They develop the base structure and then I finish it off with materials, graphics, some layoutmonospaced
- I can help layout some structure but they make it a reality. It’s a collaboration with me focusing mostly on brand and digital experience integrationmonospaced
- I also choose materials, all the little details like color and paint and finishes. Logo treatments. All the finishes. Interior design and furniture.monospaced
- This one I also did custom drop soffit lighting that isn’t in yet. The huge neon arrays aren’t even here yet.monospaced
- Nice. Post some finished ones too.MrT
- Of course. It’ll be done by Sunday.monospaced
- oh that's a really good collab :)sted
- Big Daddy! Love it. #findmeinthekitchencanoe
- I have so many questions, but no bro, this is your thing, looks good, way to go!
Post some more about the digital stuff, I'm curious about that, when you cangrafician - Ask any questions you like! The digital stuff is just graphic animation sequences.monospaced
- This is just one type of thing I do graf. I wouldn't say booth design is "my thing" if you know what I mean.monospaced

Recently wrapped up this project for the record label A Strangely Isolated Place. This is conclusion of Brock Van Wey's deep house
moniker, Earth House Hold. The physical version is an 4xCD LP-sized box.A love letter to another era...

- really lovely, but please lose that EFC - it looks like a govt standard - see
https://i.pinimg.com…hans_glib - Hah, nice association. But it's engraved already so EFC is here to stay...stewart
- this wasn't running with the same settings like the other one right?sted
- ahaha i see some shippishopping?sted
- Stewart, did you adjust the file to account for the curve? I did a beautiful circle design on cups but it's forever distorted due to the convex curvemisterhow
- Nobody else sees it until I point it out. Never thought about it until the vendor screened all of themmisterhow
- Sted, no shippishopping on the engraving, only brushed all the dust and fingerprints off the glass in PS. So this is the pure result.stewart
- Same settings as the other one. But the results are not very predictable. Maybe because the off focus as Nairn pointed out in the other post.stewart
- Misterhow, did not adjusted the file to fix distortion yet. Only with the bigger text or indeed circles it gets very important to do.stewart
- But every glasstyoe has another curve, so the adjustments are never very scientific. Purely by eye.stewart
- You should do flasks! There is this spray you dust up the top and the engraving turns black. Pretty awesome actually. Also, love these!!hydro74
- really lovely, but please lose that EFC - it looks like a govt standard - see
- stewart4
- Hard to tell, but it does look a little like the laser was out of focus. A lt of the quality is down to the type of actual glass - unfortunately some ...Nairn
- ...some don't etch well. Are you doing these yourself? If so, try making the design ~75% black (ie dark grey) then etching with a noise-like dither...Nairn
- ...that can help mimic the 'sand-blasted' look.Nairn
- If you are doing these yourself, you need a sacrifice glass that you do loads of tests on before committing.Nairn
- 8 wine glasses so far. Two of them are ready for a client. Can't show the result with logo here.stewart
- Thanks for the tips Nairm, very helpful.stewart
- The thing glass doesn't like is large swathes of '100% black' lasering, as that will make it 'chip' as in the problem I think you're highlighting,Nairn
- So dithering it in a dark grey 'breaks up', the swathes a bitNairn
- Yes, next time I'll try max 70% black, and after that convert the file to 500dpi bitmap with diffusion dither.stewart
- Why not engrave glass with acid paste?cannonball1978
- Cannonball, don't know the technique, but I aim for batches of 200 glasses per order.stewart
- Oh! Actually, sorry - that's another thing - reduce the dpi! I do most stuff at 600dpi, but glass etching at 400dpi.Nairn
- It doesnt make the glass weaker?drgs
- Probably, in an absolute sense, as we're breaking up the tougher outer, shell, but this isn't a Prince Rupert's drop - they remain strong enough for useNairn
- if i had to guess, i'd suspect lasering would be less damaging than sand-blasted equivalent as there's at least a little sintering melty-melty going onNairn
