It is currently a bit clunky but I do like it.

it has that electric circuitry feel to it, like a technical symbol, hence fitting the word socket.
just go with your original post and be done with it.

I think it's got a lot of potential.. I like the formal relationship to an actual socket, the whole plugging in feel it has. I also like the way that the countered S forms an off centred "="
I think you should just fuck around some more and look at other combinations that can come about when using these shapes. Maybe even a modular system wherein you can rearrange and have a dynamic logo would be cool...
