screw them, I don't care for a locked phone as I swap sims to local providers when traveling abroad.
I'll get mine from the US and don't expect to pay tor it more than €300

I'm waiting to hear more about the iPhone for Canada. Apparently it will be going to Rogers, which sucks. But I guess it can be unlocked now. Not that I would buy one anytime soon anyway, but it shouldn't be a huge deal to get it into Canada soon.

This Iphone is all hype. Give it 6 months and hopefully it will drop in prise, or buy off ebay. Bargain.

I heard phone plans are horrible in the UK? True? No pay-as-you-go or anything?

About the USA phones:
If you unlock your phone yourself don't download updates right away. Wait to see if anything happens to a person's hacked phone beforehand. Apple has implied that they will be attempting to have fixes for hacked phones so that you can't use them again. And you don't get that $100 rebate for hacked phones either.

(Sep 18 07, 05:42)this is true, you can only get a pay-as-you-go tariff after depositing a relative (preferably an uncle or aunt) at the phone shop for 6 months.

(Sep 18 07, 05:42)Who told you that. We have some good plane on mobiles over here. Not to sure about O2.

I only know from Canadians who travelled over there for school for a few months or something. They mentioned all of Europe though, so it could be a variety of places. But I do know that texting is quite popular over there (compared to here).
I heard various things, like how they compete more for your business. It could just be a case by case thing though.
I currently use pay-as-you-go.

Pay-as-you-go is for people with shit jobs isn't it?
Why would someone with a shit job want an iPhone?

(Sep 18 07, 06:15)Bill pay is for people who believe what you just said.
Most people don't know how to use a calculator anyway so they automatically believe that.

(Sep 18 07, 06:15)hahaha, nice generalization there.
I use payg because I don't use the phone much.
- Jaline0
I mean, really. Who the hell is going to pay the ridiculous monthly costs that come with using the iPhone? It's a nice device and all, but most people don't need it.

With the iPhone, and new Apple products in general, people buy the product first and then try to figure out how to maximize their use for the overpriced device they just bought.
Some people do buy stuff according to what they need, but I know lots of people who have the iPhone and yet they keep trying to use all the features on it even though they don't really need it.
