So, just booked flights to Split in a couple of weeks for me and the missus.
Planning on heading up the Dalmation Coast but apart from the flights nothing is sorted yet.
Anywhere, or anything i shouldn't miss.?

you're absolutely gonna LOVE it. I was there not too long ago and it was without a doubt one of the most beautiful countries I've been to. I was a bit prejudiced going to a former slavic regime, but oh my, was I wrong...
I was in Makarska for just a few days playing some tennis so I am not the best giving advice around the Split area since I just transfered from there, but the Diocletianus (sp?) statue is pretty cool...
Beer is good and cheap, but don't let them pour you their domestic wine. Ugh.

i have heard the same on beer. there was a fantastic article in NYTimes a while back too, i remember.
Portorosa is lovely as well, if you get that far north.

aye, what rain, what fucking rain. COuldn't get into the breakdancing championships, couldn't get into the liquid room, couldn't get into cab vol cos some italian guy with one of my pals had shite ID, had to go to a place called the hive, which was fucking awful.
all in all a pretty decent night on the skite.

my dad was just there on some sort of masters swim tour, swimming from island to island.
i'd ask him for his recommendations, but i reckon you and he have pretty divergent ideas of what constitutes a good time.

If you don't mind spending few more quids go to Isle of Hvar. It's pretty nice but a bit expensive. Night life is crazy there. Main place called Hvar as well never sleeps :)

yeah, we were thinking of heading there for a couple of nights after brac. even for one of the more expensive islands it all still seams quite cheap.

Definately get yourself over to Brac and then go to this beach -

yep, the hotel we are looking at is in bol, about 5 minutes walk from that beach. and we can get a catamaran direct to bol from split...

Hvar is great and do spend a few days in Split. Split still stands out as one of my favorite holidays destinations ever. When I'm in work and picture getting away Split and rural Thailand come to mind. And it's got city lizards!

I've been to Vis, smaller than Hvar and a bit more sleepy.
Wonderful place, food is incredible, cheap as well.
I'd def go back, maybe do a yachting holiday, Island to Island. Also one of the best places for scuba apparently.
I'd also recommend Trogir, just up the coast from Split...
