17 hours work apparently for this dent we left in a rental car.That's got to be bullshit right?

I always thought that with new cars, they just replace the panels rather than beating them out.
Which may make it more expensive. Even small dings on new cars seem to cost a lot to repair.

I drove into the back of someone, and smashed all the back of her boot it was crumpled, £650 worth of repairs, little ford KA.
You should ask them to get three quotes which is commonplace for insurance claims and also ask for all recipts of all work carried out etc. etc.Good luck and fuck those pricks :)

Surely you are only paying the £400 excess though?
Last time i pranged a hire car, i managed to park it with the fucked side right up against a wall, they had a quick glance, never noticed the damage (i had also covered it in dust) and signed the forms. Home free.
