I am doing a direct mail piece that needs to have an official govt look, like this sh*t is important dont throw away. I am looking for some inspiration but havent found anything. anyone have any links? I have searchced google and have only found letters.

Great suggestions, i like the pattern idea, but im am limited to using black type on a blue background, disgusting i know but thats wat they want. This will also be a postcard so no envelopes. And damn, that hand writing gets me too. does anyone have links of that security pattern? doesnt it just say security over and over?

just use 'IRS' somewhere on the envelope. I guarantee you they'll open it.

There's no way to look official with a postcard, 'cause no important mail comes that way.
envelope with a red stripe and a letter enclosed would be a better way if you want to look important.
or if you just want people reading it, make it look like a actual postcard from Aruba or something... you know: hotels, palms trees and beaches. People will read it just to see if they know who it came from.
