(Jul 2 07, 10:13)Well after what I overheard Donald saying about Minnie, I wouldn't be so sure...
either way, rat, mouse...same thing...

loved it!
I will go again. great flick..I can't remember the last time I saw a standing ovation at the end of a film.

I'm so envious of you people. I used to go to the movies almost every weekend now I go 'bout twice a year.

i hadn't been since inland empire. i can barely sit still long enough to watch hired dvds much less sit through some hollywood bull

Cars was ok. A little long but looked amazing. Suffered a little from being aimed more at kids than other Pixar movies but my 3 year old loves it to bits. I have seen it about 2 dozen times on dvd now and I haven't been tempted to destroy my tv just yet.
I am really cheesed off about Ratatouille. Was in Canada until Friday night and went to a cinema in the afternoon to try and catch it. Sold out but figured I would see it back home. It doesn't bloody open here until October!
BASTARDS!
Anyway Brad's The Incredibles is easily the best Pixar film so I am looking forward to Ratatouille a lot.

the animation was stunning but i was more surprised that the movie was also quite funny - very well written - highly recommend this one!

mostly i'll watch documentaries or a certain director or some kind of series.

gonna wait for it to come out on video so I can watch it on my iPhone...

(Jul 2 07, 08:32)Just download the 9-minute preview on iTunes and put that on your iPhone, watch it, then look up movie times on your iPhone, purchase tickets on your iPhone and go see it. That's my plan at least.
I'm in love with my $600 cell phone.

Shari, I think it's because of the style of film and television you prefer. And you seem to be more intellectual the regular folk.
I'm usually up for watching anything as I am a big film and TV person, but I also like to make fun of and call out horrible films.

I didn't hear much by word of mouth on Cars. I do, however, about Ratatouille.

(Jul 2 07, 13:57)I dont really know her in person but.
I dont think it has much to do with being intelectual. she said she has no patience to sit down and watch a dvd. short span attention generation, sounds more like it. :)
- Jaline0
yeah, that could be it. I missed that comment.
I do know a few people who mainly watch documentaries or things that have actually happened in real life and don't prefer to watch much else. Some are actually more intellectual or want to be more educated than anything else, but others are pretentious.
- _salisae_0
i enjoy the education and would rather read a book than watch most movies as i feel i am participating rather than idle.
but let's talk more about you.
- version30
would you feel more participation if it was your responsibility to change the reel or had to manually advance to to next chapter of the dvd?
eye tracking text readers are right around the corner, and you'll never need to turn a page again.
what then?
nostalgia for the feel of pulp beneath your fingertips?
the only way to not be idle is either you are the story or you wrote it, be it a movie or book, you are still idle while experiencing, your imagination gets to do all the special effects because novels aren't read in two hours

We just came back from seeing it. Soooooo good. So much fun. Being someone who loves good food and cooks, it was even better.
And did anyone catch the cameo of Bomb Voyage from "The Incredibles?"
:)
