incidentally mx, your ashtray crack has reminded me of something which happened after work yesterday - I was standing outside Borders bookshop smoking a ciggie waiting to head in when, after stubbing out my fag, 2 wee cooncil faux-cops stopped me and cited me a £50 fixed penalty notice for dropping my cigarette in the street.
bastards. Though they did then describe how I could get away with it on appeal really easily.
Apparently these guys have been all over the tele nicking people for littering, but I have no tele so I hadn't known about it. Better change my ways re the fag buts, rankles a bit though as I never ever drop any 'proper' litter :E .
Its nice though cos the place has been looking very clean lately, which is pretty much the only thing which has always pissed me off about it.

...and another thing; see they're considering building a mag lev train that'll cut the journey time to 15 mins between Glasgow and Edinburgh? how cool would that be? it'd practically be one city, though I reckon the fair would be considerably higher than the tube/bus ;)
