love the Brazil poster except i don't think he nailed it with the typography, the orignal is too good

He's got the goods. Covers a lot of territory for a student portfolio I think too.
I like the Neutra CCA and the Luis Bunuel posters the most. Lots of potential showing from the book designs as well.

i dont know. im just sick of this whole look and style. so boring. i want something new and intriguing. i feel like this is the kind of work that leads to those weird, badly drawn anti drug commercials.
that being said, for a student i would say he has a career but will never be more than average.

the subject matter is outstanding - i like the idea of the call outs in snow white, because so many of barthalme's refrains do leap at your eyes like that. the typography on that particular piece feels a bit dated to me, though.
the brazil poster is spot on. and i can get with the obscure object of desire poster - although the purist in me feels it would be more suited to the exterminating angel because it's got such a heavy hispanic feel to it.
and the met catalogue is lovely.

I don't know , but his posters and some other works seem to come from the solid design pool of Rand or Brockman.

i def dont want that either. i want more design with clever concepts and shear design ability. originality and things that are about a concept more technically displayed.
