Yep. everything horton said is right. only i went in to the business center to get the papers in person.
A PST number is good if you're marking up printing. And comes in handy for when you want to buy shit like furniture and buy it as a "sample" for your *ahem* business (read: home). You get dealer pricing depending on where you buy from because you're in the 'design' industry.
PS: Always make sure to NOT charge PST when you're doing conceptual/layout work. ie: not giving clients printouts – only ideas / concepts etc.

did you do it online or at a business centre?
- sherman0
oh and do you charge both taxes?
- horton0
can't remember exactly but pretty sure GST# was online.
i have a PST# too.. also required by law if you're selling anything, like for example, tshirts ;)
but also handy cause then you don't pay PST for anything used to make your product for sale.
PST# was more paperwork.. i think you have to apply in person for that one.

thanks ~ its amazing how difficult it is to find a GST registration form.
Gov of Canada needs a new site.

GST on everything i invoice, by law.
PST only for merchandise you sell... and then you gotta file this annoying paperwork every month or year to claim PST collected in your period.

(Jan 10 07, 17:04)haha but they want $35 to process!

wouldn't that be worth it to make sure it is done correctly? being from the states we don't have such things except a tax id i got from my bank and a $50 filing fee downtown.
i don't see 35 as too much to guarantee its done right, in fact, i find it affordable

find it yet sherman?
