Caught them last night at the Meadowlands in NJ...fun, ludicrous show...it was like a christmas show, a broadway musical, a classical concert and every single 80's hair metal cliche rolled into one...pyro, lasers, dancing chicks..walked that fine line between total cheese and coolness....
And then Greg Lake from 70's prog rockers ELP walks out on stage and they do two ELP tracks...it was crazy...

Yeah! We were pretty suprised...they said they were bringing out a big influence on tha band..and we're all trying to guess who it was..and then out walks Greg Lake and he starts "Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends..."
It was crazy..but they played for nearly 3 hours!

It was a total goofball over-the-top show man...so much widdly widdly guitar...tiny asian opera singer chicks...the whole heavy metal christmas thing...The pyro..the lasers...the prog keyboards...me and my friend were having flashbacks to a Dio show we saw there back in 84 or something...and they had some James Earl Jones sounding narrator who when he wasn't doing his xmas narration bit wuold alternately sit on a stool, or just start headbanging with the guitarists in classic Judas Priest fashion..it was such a trip...

I saw the Raleigh show a few weeks ago -- i agree. it was wonderfully unexpected. I can't wait to see them again next year. The pyro show was awesome!

I saw them last year after being a fan for several years. They rocked the house with their sound, lights, and pyro effects. One of the best shows I've ever seen, Christmas or not...
