watching design trends and predicting the next is like the stock market, nobody knows (unless it is illegal insider stuff).

uhm.. i supported that theory as well, until i saw a docu about the fashion industry and how some people already "decide" for trends up to 3 years in the future.
someone in this thread mentioned that colourtrends come from textile industry and this is true.
fashion designers visit textile trade fairs the year before they start working on a new collection, , the next year it'll be presented as haute couture and the rest (confection, large brands, shops etc) follow after that..
