Does anyone have any info on click through rates for banner ads?
When delivery an online ad, what would be the CTR that one would hopefully expect to achieve?
I know most people might say 100%, but as people are prettty banner blind is there are rate in which you could argue that anything about a certain level has acheived a successful result?

dont know but very small I would imagine, like 1 or 2%
of course, I reached that conclusion by basically making it up.

depends on where and how big, the product/service being advertised and how it relates to the content but it is

i think 0.30% is usually a pretty good average rate.

remember if you have lots of regular readers, even if EVERYONE is interested enough and clicks through on the banner once, you will still get only like 1% CTR because of all their other visits during the run of the ad campaign where they wont click on it (having already done it once)...

I know there are available click through rates for email campaigns (something like an average 14% :/ ), so there must be for ads, I'll ask about a bit...

I got bored actually trying to find the information or sources, but the second result here mentions 2.1%, might be a start for your research...
Forrester will have looked into this if you could find the relevant study on-line
