i am just torn between using english and dutch.
where i live using too much english is being regarded as a bit pretentious or disconnected.
you can argue this but still, i have to live with that and get along..
so my blog is in dutch and now i need to find a way, based on a very small selection of work what way my portfolio should go.
there's some great design sensibility here, but it is all "high metropolitan culture", sometimes even navelstaring, which is hard to apply to my reality here.
i am trying to figure out how to connect with locals whilst not losing a good sense of design.
which does not mean it will always please everyone here, neither should i lock myself away from good criticism that exists here.
i need to get my site up and i am torn like imbruglia..
:(
ps. i like it here, i am not a big city man. i finally concluded that. so there....

why not both? or an option for either at the forefront of your site? am i missing the question?

well the blog and website will be connected, one cannot do without the other.
and doing it bilingual may become a bit timeconsuming..

Yeah, that's far too time-consuming... like an accountant doing the books using 2 diff. bits of software right next to each other... pretty pointless.
If you're equally proficient at both and it makes no difference to you, wouldn't the more important question be to pick which market you want reading your stuff? And would a lot of your Dutch readers speak english?

i think you should do it in english, it looks really good, writing in english is not pretentious imho
and thanks for the linky :)

If you'd like more hits then I'd have it English, personal preference I guess.
