point5... you've probably said some of the wisest stuff in this thread...as a lot of idiocy here... coz obviously a 4 year old can't have a brain...
i got the picking on me joke... but the stfu i found offensive even though i know its thrown around in the us... diffrent strokes and all that! :)

janne, I'm probably a lot like you are and NT influences me more than it should sometimes. I don't know, I guess I put myself in other people's shoes all the time and most of the NTers don't seem to.
(I still think the parents of the little girl should be parents and experiment with making her go to school and make some new friends before this news gets everywhere).

I'm glad this thread wound down the way it did.
Engage, seriously, my bad for truly being out of context. I can't expect everyone to get what I'm saying all the time, especially with my dry humor and sarcastic attitude.
Crouwell, NT has changed drastically in the last 2 years. I've seen a lot of people come and go, and it was really an eye opener when jox (i think it was jox, damn I'm forgetful sometimes) up and left based on how people treat each other in here at times. I've actually cut way back on my NT time not purposefully, but basically in part to that tight knit designer/friend community having been somewhat lost in here. I used to chime in on the weekends when I was drunk and get some really fun threads up with fellow NT'ers. But now it's kinda of a M-F 9-5 type thing.

i am just torn between using english and dutch.
where i live using too much english is being regarded as a bit pretentious or disconnected.
you can argue this but still, i have to live with that and get along..
so my blog is in dutch and now i need to find a way, based on a very small selection of work what way my portfolio should go.
there's some great design sensibility here, but it is all "high metropolitan culture", sometimes even navelstaring.
i am trying to figure out how to connect with locals whilst not losing a good sense of design.
which does not mean it will always please everyone here, neither should i lock myself away from good criticism that exists here.
i need to get my site up and i am torn like imbruglia..
