How about Japanese literature. Check out some of Haruki Murakami's books.

Dance Dance Dance
The Wind up Bird ChroniclesGotta be one of my fave authors at the mo.
As well as Paul Auster. But He's not Japanese. Obviously.

btw. i bought Wong Kar Wai's "in the mood for love" (2 disc edition with tons of extra's) a few days ago. Still need to see it. I am especially looking forward to see Doyle's camera work.

Maybe Mickey Rourke in Breakfast at Tiffany's would be more up your street. You might as well have said 'all asian people look the same'. Jeez! 'Jap', 'Korean'... whatever...

who yoo talkiing too boikov?
- mrdobolina0
Boikov, there is no such thing as asian cinema?
think you might be a bit hyper-sensitive.
- Boikov0
I'm always hyper-senitive. I should probably be medicated right now. :)

lol @ boikov
asian cinema is distinct. so are asian's people's eyes. i will not use the term widescreen though.
but stop that PC attitude killing any interesting conversation about the merits and differences of other cultures.
YES, most Asian films are distinctive to Hollywood or European films.
- mrdobolina0
haha. these other movies are great though and are quite similar in style (from asian region to region) in comparison to shitty american movies. Especially the gangster genre.

there's also great, if not legendary, American movies. No need to discredit that, Dobs.
