where the hell were we for that?

I was starting to give feedback, but since you're not about to make any adjustments, I figured, why bother...
- ********0
yup.. I'm not really going to be changing anything, apart from alt tags n titles n stuff..

the type! it is suffocating!!
- mr_snuggles0
precise...

What you don't like the font?
That or Verdana. Both evil.
- ********0
no. it just wants to breathe.
- ********0
More leading?
I can tweak the type a bit.

I'd pad the header things a wee bit, personaly, the ones with the background colour :)

Good job, moth.
A few things..
- Why no 2nd [verify] password box on sign up?
- Crouwel's right - it's all very tight - let it breathe!
- Personally, I'd re-skin ( at least purple-ize) your forum
- The Login/ Register's not in the 'usual' place (top right), but mid-way down the page?
- A bit more room below the footer?
- Make the images of the PR/Business/Journo sections clickable (not just the text)
- I'd appreciate some complementary colours to draw the eye beyond the purple.I'm just nit-picking here - overall - Looks like a job well done!

Thanks Nairn.

Why would you bother with two?
Never understood that myself. They aint paying enough for me skin the forums!

"Why would you bother with two? Never understood that myself."
Because you're tech literate - you can't assume that for other people..
..ESPECIALLY fucking journos who are, in my experience at least, generally fucking idiots.
:)

Hey Moth, nice work.
Not sure whats been mention already.
Just a few points come to mind design wise.
The right-hand column could be boxed off perhaps, there is a lot info here and it might help to distinguish it.
The only other thing is the rules on the bottom look a little odd. i.e. the ones at the bottom of the news page.

better.
but the text still screams more leading to me..

try giving your purple column headers a bit more height. it will help separate things a bit better and make them stand out better as headings.
how about making the backgroud color of one of the info boxes a shade or two gray to help a bit too. break things up a bit better.
there is a lack of open space on the page. things seem bunched.
nice grid though! way to lay things out in order.

Your ampersands in the content headers are doing something funky.
Text still too tight. legible but not inviting.
header: nice typography experiment except the food doesn't look delicious at all. On a food site, that should come before all. I think if the images were cropped on all four sides instead o bleeding into the page it would help settle things up there.
