son

son,
I'm going to say this once, because you remind me of a few people I have come across, in a positive way
On the positive side, I think you do have some talent there, somewhere. And you got moxy, you got the hustle and the confidence. That's awesome. That's the stuff that will be there when the well runs dry or the walls crumble around you and you gotta to that next, last step. You want that moxy in your gas tank, you know what I mean.
But..but..for what you are producing, especially on the design side..man, it's subpar at worst, a work in progress at best. I mean I had a close friend once, came from the streets, had some hard times himself. And he was in your same boat - he needed that ego to survive where he came from, but that ego also got in his way in acquiring and APPLYING new knowledge, and taking criticism as an attack. Therefore he only progressed so far with what he was trying to do.
there's a fine line between creating something cutting edge, and something that just doesn't hit the fundamentals. You don't seem to have a grasp of some very fundamental stuff in the design sphere. You gotta know the rules before you break em, you know...
Like, to be specific, you create these sites of an image of text all scrunched up so it's illegible..I mean, I get the design aesthetic you're reaching for, but it's still not communicating..you're appropriating the form with what seems to me little idea of how to communicate it effectively.
Maybe it works in your sphere...maybe the community that is your target "gets" it, but I'm not sure..
A little knowledge is bad, a little knowledge applied badly is even worse, especially when coupled with an attitude that is not open to criticism. Any criticism at PVN I think, as you do throw your stuff up for critique, really is about how to make what you're doing more effective in getting your point across...
There is confidence in humilty as well...
Hope I communicated that correctly so you can heed what I'm saying...

criticism isnt smart its for the artfully dejected- emerson lake and palmer...
i dont post for advice, i post to give you guidance
and show and tell of course
i do all he does for a profession as a hobby ... so go figure
son
(Aug 5 06, 13:09)Music, and art in general, is a deed, which one stands responsible for and must bear the criticism of right after the moment it is presented to public. It is a hobby only if you keep it to yourself

Son...whatever...your loss, not mine. I'm not even sure where you think I was talking about industry and superstars and 'makin' it', I was talking about fundamentals and basics, of which you don't have. If you don't get that, you don't get self-mastery, which is what I thought you were all about anyway...
I mean you keep throwing up creative stuff, asking what we think of it and then take none of the criticism and change anything..it's just one more giant jpeg image of garbled Times New Roman.
..I was trying to actually take you seriously and give you some heartfelt advce. Sorry to "bore" you. I am now certain you'll be a medium fish in a small pond. Enjoy the water. This blue one will not bore you anymore. In fact, you're off the radar...
Peace

TheBlueOne, i liked your attempt at communicating to son. unfortunately he forgets to listen.

Son, I actually wanted to hear your thoughts on a new photoshoot I did, but since you were acting like a brat in IM, just like you do here, I didn't feel like bothering with it.
- ********0
i was willing, yet, why should i be kind to you, i'm being too nice by even im'ng you "what?" you were one of the same one's to slander me
thats like telling michael jackson he's arrogant and ungrateful for not performing in the us.
after what they did to him?
doesnotexist? exactly, you do not exist to me...

fate we can communicate and i can look at your photoshoot which i'd really like, but i have to protect myself, i still remember your name being synonomous with slandering my name...
