Call it sneaky suspicion but I would bet that mrdobolina is a fan of Mel Gibson. He will probably defend Gibson in this thread in some roundabout vague way.

maybe the same things that drive gibson to be a great artist make him a bit nutty?
i'm willing to guess that the same people who condem him for the dui, wouldn't (didn't?)offer the same condemnation to friends or realatives if they made the same dumb ass mistake.
...special treatment would have been sweeping the offence under the rug, not letting some druken rambleings go.
like it would effect your dui case if ya droped the "n" word a few times after ya got pinched?

"After drinking alcohol on Thursday night, I did a number of things that were very wrong and for which I am ashamed. I drove a car when I should not have, and was stopped by the LA County Sheriffs. The arresting officer was just doing his job and I feel fortunate that I was apprehended before I caused injury to any other person. I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested, and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable. I am deeply ashamed of everything I said. Also, I take this opportunity to apologize to the deputies involved for my belligerent behavior. They have always been there for me in my community and indeed probably saved me from myself. I disgraced myself and my family with my behavior and for that I am truly sorry. I have battled with the disease of alcoholism for all of my adult life and profoundly regret my horrific relapse. I apologize for any behavior unbecoming of me in my inebriated state and have already taken necessary steps to ensure my return to health."

Let me let you in on a little secret. Mel Gibson is a terrible actor and an even bigger douchebag. His recent credits include The Singing Detective, Signs, What Women Want, The Patriot, Payback, Lethal Weapon 4, Conspiracy Theory, Ransom, Maverick, The Man Without a Face, Forever Young, Air America, and Bird on a Wire. All shite. I'll give him credit for being entertaining in the first 2 Lethal Weapons, and Braveheart and Gallipoli are worthy of some respect., but to call him a great artist is almost as ludicrous as Gibson's behavior.
quamb, I think the scorn is coming because he acted like a pompous, racist ass when he got arrested, not because he got a DUI.
