  How are you liking the name of this interview? Cognescenti is just a great word. We were also considering calling it the "Tastemaking Mafia interview". or "An interview with the Internet Culturati." Whatever you want to call it, we managed to get a hold of some of the best websites who report on the stuff that we love: pop and pop subcultures. Because that’s really what it is, this isn’t street, it’s not urban – we essentially report on a sublevel of pop.

  And who are these people you might ask? None other than Chuck Anderson and Benjamin Gott of The Brilliance, Nat Thompson of A Silent Flute, Adam from Slamxhype, and Kevin Ma of Hypebeast. This interview was roundtabled and moderated by myself, Clarence Kwan of Dopefiend. I handpicked the people who I thought were doing the best job of reporting, discussing, and providing opinion on the business of hype, gear, art and culture.

  The interview took place via MSN Messenger on a Thursday night. The guys chatted everything including advertising campaigns, music, sustainability, the real estate market, 8-balls, Middle Eastern influences, sneakers, Levi’s, and Chuck’s girlfriend. These guys are bright, informed, opinionated, and off the wall hilarious. Big ego’s and big words from the "Pop Cognescenti"...
