this is crazy - i love the internet mob mentality.
In other news, I read a blurb in the wall st. journal about "bus uncle" - I guess "real news" is much to depressing these days.

true, tk. some of his stuff is definitely questionable.
Also, I stumbled upon those 9/11 pics too...crazzzzy...

I don't know..but this guy is still whining about his stupid lost phone days on...I think he's just a rich little bitch who deserves a beating. I mean he's like a 14 year old emo girl...and like the way he says he "survived 9-11" with the pics form his apartment down the street. Yeah, in that case I
"survioved 9-11" too pal...I hope the dumb idiots who stole his phone track him down and beat some idea of manliness into his whining Greenwich CT raised ass...

I had never heard of "Bus Uncle" but after reading that aricle, I support his tirade 100%

It's funny how it's sort of separated the public in HK..it's 50/50 with supportand scold for the way he acted. It's sort of the thing in HK to mind your own business..not say how you feel...to keep it low key and just get on with it. That's why this video had such a massive impact on the city whereas if it had taken place here or back in the UK...it wouldn't have been given a second glance by many.

i kind of thought so about the cultural significance as we have all seen people blow up at the airport and on the street and no one thinks about it, it's normal here
and about those buildings, i had seen them before, looks like a super cool place to visit but a terror to live in
privacy is something i take for granted i'm slowly learning

repulse bay? why
and thats crazy to see those mountains, huge builings, and the shore... looks like a disaster waiting to happen
is there no fear of mudslide or tsunami there?

There were a lot of problems with landslides back in the day - especially with typhoons and tropical storms - and particularly because most of the roads there are one lane each way. I remember one year after it hadn't stopped raining for about 3 days being on teh way to school on the school bus. We got about half way and had to stop because what seemed like half the bloody mountain had slipped down and covered the entire road - both ways - which incidentally was the onyl road into out or of where we were going, unless you wanted to drive round the Island the other way.
Anyway, to cut a long story short because I am babbling, everybody got off the bus and started clearing out the mud, in the rain.
That was back in the ate 80's/early 90's though. Since then they have concrete blasted ad built retaining walls on most of the hillsides that back onto the roads. Ugly...but it stops shit like that happening so it's ok in my book.
