I think you're misunderstanding me.
I'm not bidding on a project, I'm curious what kind of budgets this type of company throws at their communications.

dude, it is all diffent w/ every brand/project. honestly.
if you are looking for an answer like "they all start at 100k and cap-out at 1 million" or something, you ain't gonna get it.
that is why there are reviews and contract negotiations.

i know of a large entertainment company who is currently paying 10K for a small flash mini-site.

Most big companies have a lot of expert employees and consultants who know exactly what something should cost so you're not going to get away with much and usually your pricing will need to be extreamly competitive.

big brands pay $8999.98 for websites and $4999.00 for an A4 magazines ad.
Everybody knows this is how much they pay.

Nike paid me $4 for their logo

The people that know the answer(s) to this probably shouldn't be telling you.

that's not really what I was looking for.

assuming that you're good.
ask what their budget is, they'll lowball you, you tell them that you could give them a lesser product for that price, they say that they need to look around. this seems like a very good sales technique on your part.
I learned this from a douche who ran his own studio. you learn things when you get bounced around

get bent

ask them how much their budget is

i would agree somewhat with uber bouncing around alot..yea ..but with large client accts you kind of have to come with numbers and know what they are lookin for...i mean nike, addi-dass..they know what their numbers are thru and thru..so i would say with large accts be organized with your math...
