The client has gone for one of two designs out of the six I presented. I am currently working up both. This is the first one...
Any feedback on the colour choice and also the logo itself (kerning, face, etc) would be appreciated.
The client is a scottish events company but didn't want the standard tartan, saltire, haggis pish.

Nice work. I like the top one.

looks nice. I think the colours are a bit too washed out right now. pump it up, maybe try black + one colour. I think the type is good, maybe try moving the "L" and the "T" closer together so the space in between is a square rather than a rectangle? I dunno, you'd have to adjust the rest of the text accordingly...

#2 - thumbs up!

Nice logo! Top one.

yeah, too much pastel like.
make the colors stronger, esp. since the logo's type is very thin, and thus does not stand out enough. esp. in small sizes or combined with other logo's/graphics in various publications.
it would also be stronger to have the FIRST part in a lighter color and the right half in a darker color.
this gives it a climax direction instead of a fade out illusion, and thus a stronger impact upon the observers, audience.

must say i like the logo! clever.

why do you have to cut the bottom of the t and the top of the l? does it look shite if you dont do that?
I prefer the version where its the same colour but ine side is a tint, or two similar colours, but these colours look a tad weak.

i can imagine it looks shite if you do that.

i like this logo lots.
i prefer 1a, 1b, 1c because the colors have more contrast.
what of you adjust the kerning on the REE and IME and bring them a bit closer together so that the square formed by the LT pops out more?
nice work!

Cheers for the comments so far guys.
Snuggles, bringing the T and L closer to make a square makes them quite difficult to make out as letters.
Rasko, yes it looks shit if it's not cut off.
As for the colours I wanted to go for something quite muted as the logo itself feels quite modern and I didn't want to soften it a little. I will look into brightening them a little.
Anyone else?

I think the muted colours make the modern logo feel a little dated. Like in a mid-90's corporate way...

First one gets my vote.
You could use the L and T through out the rest of the brand as an abstract pattern. If you catch my drift

go bold - go black and something sharp, maybe bright. can always tone down for the site scheme..

Ok, so bolder colours check.
Anyone else? Basekerville, what do you think? I will vote for your t-shirt if you tell me good things.
