too bad they completely and utterly screwed the perfectly rounded lines that characterized the TT so well, and made it stand out..

yup, what Crouwel said, though I think here they were driven mainly by drug dealers at least for a while.
I thought the old one looked like it was laithed from a single piece of metal, everything seemed so well judged and put together. this one (at first glance) looks more standard to me...

Tasty. But then I've got a soft spot for Audis. Or a hard spot, depending on what way you look at it.
My vote for most radical and beautiful redesign... Nissan Skyline GTR.

yeah that bmw coupe looks nice. The Skyline redesign looks like something out of Robocop, mate.

I think the TT have grown to the better, more complex curves and lines, I like that. The old one is still very nice, but kinda old to look at now.

---It was a beautiful geometric German block of steel, Now they made its ass look 911-ish which is a totally different piece of german ass.
It also looks a little like a rip-off of what originally was a TT rip-off:
