There are, of course, a million bands I wish I could've seen before my time or before I was really into music. But this post is more about bands I love now, that I just got into too late.
So here then is a list of 5 bands I wish I could have seen:1) The Murder City Devils
2) The Verve
3) At the Drive In
4) Three Mile Pilot
5) Sunny Day Real Estate(I should also mention that all the members of these bands are still making music, just not together)
And top of the pile was the Pixies...but I've now seen em like 4x in the passed year. Oh Dinosaur Jr. Too.
amen.

Man, I wish I could have seen SDRE too. I also missed Mineral, though I've since seen The Gloria Record and Zookeeper (ex-members of Mineral) and The Fire Theft (ex-members of SDRE)...

I loved SDRE, back when I was a cutter. I thought the ex-SDRE's were in Foo Fighters?
They got me through some tough times when my dad would make me take out the trash, and I had tests and shit.

Highly agree with ATDI.
I saw Dino Jr. this past year for the first time, and have to say it was a bit of a disappointment for me.
Against Me! is my fav live band these days. This past weekend I saw them in Vegas and in San Diego.

Some of these I've seen, but I'm very sad they are broken up:
Juno
Jawbox
Shiner
Chavez
Quicksand
90 Day Men
Hum
Botch
...I was lucky enough to see SDRE, Murder City Devils, and ATDI!

The first time I saw Dino Jr was a small club that held about 150.
It was '88-'89 right around the time they covered the Cures "Just Like Heaven". We'll that kind of sucked because it was loud as fook and they had smog machines so I could see or breath.
Next time was at Lollapalooza in front of thousands and thousands and they where great.
I've seen J twice solo acoustic at small coffee house settings and he's amazing!

Only one from SDRE is in Foo Fighters.
I've seen SDRE three times, Jeremy Enigk on his solo tour once, and the Fire Theft once.
The sunny day shows were some of the best I've ever been to.

Not too long before Jeff Buckley died a friend gave me a heads up that he was playing under a fake name at this little hole in the wall club, The Kendall Cafe in Cambridge MA and I missed it. :(
I also missed a Sundays concert and they broke up shortly thereafter.

Fooler:
Three Mile Pilot was a band from San Diego whos memebers went on to bands like Black Heart Procession, Heavy Vegetables, and Pinback.
Also, being from San Diego they were involved with the Rocket From The Crypt/Hot Snakes/Drive Like Jehu bands.
Good stuff...If you like Black Heart Procession stuff you'll love 3 mile. Its pretty dark stuff.

I saw the Pixies in 89 and 12/04. Both times they were great.
I think Jimi Hendrix would have been enjoyable.
Come to think of it, while I was in school in Buffalo, I could have seen Stevie Ray Vaughn for free at the campus, but my friends wanted to drink in the dorms. Why did I listen to them.
Yes, I am old.

I saw MCD with the New Bomb Turks! Pixes open up Love and Rockets, GBV all the freakin time ( im from Ohio ) Also saw the Replacemts back in the day and McLusky at an in-store. I was working on my Triumph when I heard SRV had passed. I almost cried.
Shows I missed... Nirvana at Staches and White Stripes at the place in Portland where Curt and Courney met.
