Have faith in yourself. If all the recent posts are of any indication, good things will come. I've learned that the people who care enough about what they do to be active on the pvn are generally pretty talanted. Its only a matter of time before things will happen for you. good luck!

yeah i think i will leave. thanks for the advice. i had to think about it and weigh some pros but i think i will make the right decision.
it's hard to leave a steady pay for the unknown.
thanks

You can't show your work?!? That sucks.
Weigh your options but it sounds to me that you should get out now while you can, most of the time your intuition is right. If you think you are going to get the shaft you will.
Good luck!

One of the key things here is that you can't show your work. Try to consider how that will affect what comes next for you. Doesn't sound so good.

thanks guys. i did freelance for 2 years before and did my best work then. i only fuck myself through full time jobs.
i have to wait to see what type of project the contract job will be and the money is better than what i'm being paid now.

WWDD
what would derek do?
j/k - do the contract, I just quit a 18 month contract that I won't show work from. It sucks. Luckily I was freelancing the whole time.

give that shit up immediately.
a year and a half ago I lost my job so I thought i would take the opportunity to go freelance, I haven't looked back, my only regret was that I hadn't done it sooner. I had three holidays last year! :)

Ok i have a contract opportunity that might lead to full time contract work. it's at a small web shop doing a variety of brand work. Right now i just started a job that i don't like at all but it's full time and i will get paid monthly. No web or brand work either. No strategy, just design.
I am not allowed to show people my work either because it's confidentual. Also i'm using an appllication that no one has and most likely will never use.
As a designer i know that my current job will fuck me in the end. I think i have to decide by tomorrow or Monday the latest. What should i do?
Also i have some freelance on the side too and i am waiting for another freelance thing tomorrow.
If that other freelance thing gets approved then i will definitely quit, but if it doesn't should i still quit and rely on that contract job? i have a 2 week test period with them.
I already made 1 mistake, should i risk my full time job and take the contract job? i'm in so much debt that i don't know what i'll do if i lose the contract job too.
Sorry for the long rant post.
