50 has bought into the hype of his own mythology.
"I am a gangster!" his image constantly says. Now, clearly, he believes it himself and wants everyone to believe accordingly.
I will not.
His whole fame is based around the production value of his songs. Compare the lyrics and delivery, a cappella, of 50 versus someone like Jay-Z, and you'll recognize the difference in talent.
There are rappers, and then there are guys that just sort of say some stuff over other people's beats. 50 falls into the latter category.
