that's genius,
FI Denying that they ever used this guy, then he says it was him and he worked there for 9 months.
Whisper Writes:
HOLY CRAP!!... these guys were hired by FI to do the graphics for the RR site?.. no way!!FI Writes:
No they "were" not. This is one person making false claims. We will deal with this immediately. Thank you to those that notified us of the thread.Titan77 Writes:
Hi,Im the creator and freelancer artist behind subsociety.se. I was actually hired by FI for around 9 months to create graphics and flash compositions. FI is one of many companys ive worked with so theres no reason lying. I have just recived FWA SOTD award which is amazing since im competing against big companies all over the globe. Im not hunting credit that doesnt belong to me so FWA award is huge for me.

Their work, the prices they charge and the acclaim they receive are all top drawer. Well and good.
A test is legitimate at some point in the recruitment process but not one that extensive in the pre-interview stage. It's unethical. FI has reached the point of success and establishment when they need to mature and show some respect and leadership to the industry, and the designers working in it. Establish some ethical guidelines and follow them.
The worst things about the design industry are massive, godlike egos, conformity and the way the top dogs give nothing back. It's about respect. We didn't all grow up in Sweden with silver spoons shoved up our asses and free access to the world's best schools. Some of us actually paid our dues.
- Bingo. They are overrated anyway.JonnyPompa

Overall, i believe tests are very good. Look at how many People said "nah i don't do it". Are those possinly your next coworker always bitching on their assignments???
Tests are Standard in so many other creative disciplines like advertising and copywriting, so where is the problem? You pitch yourself or in the name of your Boss to get work, projects... compete with each other. What the market demands from you everyday is way more involved.
What i think is lame with the test is basically 2 things:
a) i would look into handing out tests after a personal Interview, that way you can Map and relate work to a human and not an iconmaker-Robot. You will also get the right people coming bck with results vs ppl just talking.
b) i think they should not ask people to mimic the FI style. But rather see the applicants own style. It's their opportunity to get New talent and not just another FIer templater. Also i believe it's their work to spot talent from the Tests and say "thIs Guys skills is so good He wil have no problem adapting various styles for our various Clients.
So all in all i'm for legit tests with slight changes :) Heck they did not ask for a blood and coordination test, they asked for somehing that somewhat reflects what awaits you in your daily grind.
