how do you guys do it?
where did you print your portfolio/book of work, do you mail it out to potential employers. how many did you print? what kind of paper did you use?
personally i only need about 5 to 7 prints, but the printer says he cant do it, or he could print it on a print/copy machine. and you know what that looks like. i was hoping to have something nice and presentable, but this seems unlikely.
please share your ideas, i am new to all of this.
i am in nyc.

digital prints is the way, you can't run it on press, unless your just loaded with cash.

A good inkjet on nice coated paper works well

yeah, I just put it together in InDesign and print on my nice Canon InkJet. Quality is good and I can print as many as I like.

(Oct 7 05, 06:12)I second that. I brought some good paper to work and when nobody was around I got my portfolio production on.
Didn't think I'd get great results but good paper works wonders with color.

depending on the piece, an inkjet print can look better than offset lithography

my school has amazing professional level printers. one of the benefits of being an alumni is that we get access to all lab equipment, including printers and screenprint presses, forever, FOR ETERNITY.
so i just use those.

crap, I wonder if I still get access to my college's equipment. That's an awesome idea.
