exactly show us the frame and were with you other wise its influence ... i mean you could probably look at a number of reels and a number of print ads and see stuff that looks really close from within the last 3 yrs
ie : designer republic stuff major influence here ...

it happens a few seconds in right? i see it. it's almost exact but for a few proportions are different.
wait for their reply. be cool until it comes. if it doesn't find a lawyer.

whups..
sorry mutant...
my mistake..just took some advice and went through it frame by frame..
sweet jebus fuck.
that is most definitely your work..
without a doubt, that is a RIP
sorry about the confusion...i just thought they'd snagged your style, which was a popular style allready..
but nope...they took your work dude..
no mistake..nail em.
be polite, but definitely nail ema comparison frame along side your own image like dinky suggested would be a damn good idea...
send it...cheers

take a screen shot / frame of your design and post it beside the other work

it looks dated because yes the design is old, and i never claimed to of started that style in the slightest. but look at it, i don't mind influence but they've just traced my image that is what im getting at.

It's one thing to bite a style. It's another to straight jack it. I'm just surprised that this dude caught it.

sorry mutant...
havet to concur with some of the other guys here..
there's definitely a ton of similarities, thats for sure, and you can definitely feel justified that they may have stolen something, however, i too have seen that look...
it was an incredibly popular design trend for quite a while online and in print...
your work is nice, very clean and well designed, but its not like it was with influence either..
no offense dude..all our design work in one way or another is influenced.....
cheers

I thoought the same when i first saw the reel but look at it closely frame by frame.
And yes, I have nothing better to do.
- radar0
I wouldn't call that a rip - as half the internet looked like that 3 years ago. If anything they just made their reel look dated.
And you didn't create that look, so you either ripped it, or were heavily influenced by someone else.

I don't see any ripped design.
The internet is full of these kind of vector illustrations. So poor and déjà vu !
- zaire0
Damn you really did get jacked. can't wait to hear what they have to say. Good luck.

Chill. Wait for their email response. Take it from there.
I think the real crime here is that you got the timing of your design right and they are about 2-3 years too late with a look that isn't creative or original or new anymore...in a way, they are shooting themselves in the foot....so maybe their payback is karma.

stop it,
what are you talking about.
have a cup of tea and continue working.

There is a similarity indeed.. kind of disappointing to see a design firm with some expensive equipment do such a thing...
Well maybe you should wait for the reply on your e-mail and see what they say....

well recently viewed a showreel by Italian outfit Rumblefish ( http://www.rumblefish.it/reelB.h… ) and I noticed they'd blatnently stolen one of my designs and used it basically for branding their showreel . The design in question is here,
created a good few years ago (of course I have proof).
I have of course emailed them (politly!), but what would you guys do in this situation?
