crazy - the text is totally legible on my LCD.. i wouldn't even think to suggest it was a problem.
i say go live and its an easy fix down the road if Michael receives complaints.

I agree about the text contrast - and that's coming from someone who likes to push the limits of legibility too. At certain viewing angles on my LCD it almost disappears. Regardless, the site is well-crafted. Great job.

Thanks guys
Canuck - i still agree. im trying to find the balance between being able to read it and not. I want it to be really subtle so the pictures stand out and there no distractions.

dude looks good.. i really like how you used the shadows and grey color... kind of gives it this softness, realism and shakyness that reflects on his work

Still find the text a bit hard to read.

moving the text up some.

I like the design, and soft muted colors. The text is hard to read, so I recommend making it darker when the viewer mouses over the text.
I'm not likeing the color boxes on the top left, but that's me.
Again, nice looking site though.

I think this site works really well. You've made him proud, no doubt.

looks tight sherman (Safari 2.0.1)...
colors and contrast are fine on my Apple LCD; i like the tone-on-tone small text.. but i guess you gotta consider all display types.
the only font issue i'm seeing is the "People's Trust" in Clients & Publications is displaying a weird character for the apostrophe... and i'm guessing you updated to a sans serif font (?)
i was fine with the nav bar but could see how some folks might get confused.. is there any way you could add mouse-over captions/ prompts to identify what each button does?
and i don't buy your "first time crit" BS ;)

gotta love slideshowpro

Thanks for all your comments.
Everything you said is valid.
I am designing on a 20" monitor for the first time and i think it makes my eyes crazy.

looks like you forgot to embed the font in the main window thingy, its coming out as really small times new in black...
other than that it looks nice!

Dude.
You might want to consider some more contrast between the background and the color of your type for readability.
Also, I didn't initially understand how I was suppose to browse the photoes. There was a top-bar-menu thing. I'm not sure what the plus, minus and whatnot was meaning to me.
I am sure that when I play around with them I'll get it. Though it'd be even better if it was so selfexplanitory that I would understand the use instantly.

the way it comes out on my monitor the grey text is a tad small, and perhaps a shade too light...
but the style.... 2 thumbs up :)
