Elections. What a joke.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world…
Some officials quit their job controlling the polls since the fraud was so obvious they did not want to be held accountable for it. No foreign officials were allowed.
The dictatorship will be there for at least another 6 years.
discuss..

I'm glad to see that people quit over it though.
Sucks - gotta feel for the people who live there for being shafted so openly.
- ********0
yeah, i mean could it be more obvious?
geezz, i honestly think this is worse then what we've seen elsewhere.
why?
cuz Joe Average will think of nice holidays and fucking heaps of bricks called pyramids when you mention Egypt.
Not one of the biggest oppressing countries in the world..
Iran, N-Korea, Zimbabwe, Egypt etc.
..all the same shit.

word, janne.
aren't a load of the insurgents in iraq from Egypt? I know plenty of terrorists come out of there.
It funny what you say about 'Joe Average's' thoughts on Egypt... and I totally agree. So many tourists travel through that country each year - the same can go for so many other countries around the world w/weak leadership... but somehow manage to keep their tourism moving...
... perhaps it's time protest the pyramids! Down with the fucking pyramids! The pyramids were built to trap the twisted curious little minds of future tourists!!.. it's all a ploy to fund the tyrants!
*burrrrrrrrrrapPP
'scuse me.

(Sep 7 05, 19:37)not such a bad idea.
but only for this reason:
i have seen several close-ups of protests that almost got out of hand. In the eyes and physical hesitation of the armed police you could clearly see fear and doubt, and obviously they did not seem motivated to kill their own family, friends and neighbours if they had too.
so there's potential for a coup.
but that is just my 2 eurocents.
- ********0
what kind of coup? like another strongman comes into power? I say democratic radicalism could do the trick.
- ********0
" I say democratic radicalism could do the trick."

Trust me, and I don't mean to be a prick. Egypt is disgusting and I've got pix and stories to prove it.
Very, very corrupt x's 10.
No different than anywhere in Africa. Except maybe Botswana.

I like them triangular thingies they have out there in the sand in Egypt.
I liked Egypt even better after I watched the Scorpion King.
