OK, in Illustrator, I picked up a bad habit - I think. A lot of times, I'll build shapes as solid colors and converting them to gradients. I always end up having to look at the hex code for the color and key it into the gradient manually. Is there no way to automagically grab the color and inset it in the gradient, or am I overlooking someting really obvious?

you can drag a palette color into the little squares on a gradient palette

you can drag a color from anywhere in illustrator into the gradient toolbar.
