So it is supposed to print up to the edges of the paper, but it doesn't.
i got a card (unfolded 132x264mm) and i entered that in the pagesize dialogue, saved it, then set bleeds to 0 etc. All settings + the preview look ok to me, but it always makes fuckin' margins when printed!!!
this is pissing me off royally since i have been trying this for over an hour now!!!!!
what to do?
pls??

are you working in illustrator?

yep..
- _salisae_0
i don't know what size you're mming about but illustrator automatically puts a margin around 8.5x11
so when you make a bleeding document that size you have to lay it out on an 11x17 and trim down
this is all the helpful information i have in the department

i can try that, but i wonder why it has to be so difficult..
and i still wonder if that works, probably half will fall off?
lemme see..

thx for your help though! :)
but i don't think i will solve this one easily..
if i lay it out on a larger format it will most likely shift and then i have to measure the margins and do all kinds of complicated ish for a friggin simple task!!!!!!!
grrrr
*shakes fist furiously

that damned adobe illustrator team ... grrrr they need to stop holding pilgram parties and get some of our issues taken care of

Fastest, easiet trick-- copy over into an InDesign document with no margins (you can even set a slug to be safe).
Better yet-- print it from Acrobat Pro-- you'll have more control over the margins.

i could try that as well.
thx all!

Which epson do you have Janne? and how do you like it?
- ********0
Epson R300..
out of 1-10 i give it a 7..
it's cheap, but it got many many features i don't NEED.. just like many other things in life.
a computer, a printer or whatever "intelligent" machinery needs to do what i want it to do, it should not make it's own decisions or try to think for me.. i HATE that!
GRRRRRRR...

epson claims it prints full bleed. the epson-rep/salesman promised me as well.
i finished about 16 tests on all kinds of sizes, and can conlcude only one thing:
it doesn't.epson = jerks.

an inkjet that prints a bleed without trimming is rediculous.
why did you think that would ever happen?
maybe you should feed some larger paper and trim
if your buck twenty eight printer can handle it that is

I have the same printer, and I just tried this. It works.
You have to select the borderless option under paper options. Then, select the use print setup box that is under the page setup. (under the dimension input fields.) This is with Illustrator 10, so it may be slightly different on others.
Hope that makes sense.

well i could not find it before, dwarner. i will look for this next time.
and ps. it should work somehow, as the paper size i used is a lot smaller then the max. size allowed for this printer. i had some print settings wrong and it put the image half over the edge of the paper.. but i got no leaks or stripes or whatever.
so it should work.
