where did you have it done, bitlounge? and how do they go to work? do they copy it, what?
is their competition in that branche? i mean is there different pricing throughout europe??

I did it here:
http://www.datarecovercenter.com… (it's only in portuguese).
They copied everything to a new disk. Sure it was expensive but I got all things back as they were before the "crash". There is some competition. I contacted other companies, the prices were similar, but this one seemed to be the most reliable to me at that time.
I guess the prices may be different throughout europe.

just read on here, in dutch, that if you here scratching and clicking sounds you must turn the computer off immediatly and get it out for recovery. if you try to acces it more it will only damage more and less chance for recovery..
anyway, these guys claim to recover the disk for about 300 euro's. which seems fair, altho not sure if these cats are as professional though!
i'll call them tomorrow..
scary pics btw:

janne, try data rescue x first.. recover companies say stuff like that because they want you to bring it to them

janne - my disk would not mount at all (flashing "?" ). After 2 hours on the phone with apple care they started recommending those data recovery places (expensive)... then at the last minute another apple tech guy slipped my guy a note and suggested diskwarrior. i bought it the next morning. booted from the disk and tah-dah my disk mounted.
that's my experience. i wish you luck.

found another:
just noticed there's a difference in recovering software-wise and hardware-wise.. the other site wasn't clear about that.. guess the hardware recovery will be several 1000's anyway.. :(
