Ok this is my dilemma, I am working at a place where lots of artists come and do residencies.
I was working on a project for 2 artists for about 8 weeks. (that's the amount of time they have for their residency) Anyway, they approached me 2 days ago to finish the project freelance. It's probably 2-3 day's work and they can only pay me $150 because they are unemployed.
Now I want to finished the project because I did a lot of work on it, but I don't know if it's fair to work so hard and only get that little in return.
they are planning on entering the site in a festival at the end of the month.
What do you think I should do? Should I negotiate? What is a fair price I should ask for? or should I ask for something else besides money?

tough
try and get more
but if thats all they can give I would still finish it

thanks nic. yeah I should just finish it and suck it up.
I'm terrible at negotiating, i feel greedy and selfish when i do that.

well, if you are willing to complete the work, and it seems that more money is out of the question, i would def. ask for some art instead. i like getting artwork from others (if it isn't some weird nonsensical shit (which all depends on your personal taste))
$150 isn't really shit. but some new art might be.

I'd do it too...if you like the work and are proud of it...finish it and add a nice piece in your portfolio
