Sure currupted file....Stop Theif.
just kidding Im in sort of the same situation, I have a client that paid another designer for his work but since the client switched advertising agencies the original designer is being a prick and wont give the client his .fla file, so I was thinking of using a decompiler to strip the work apart so I dont have to recreated the work.

I've tried most of the decompilers for Mac and Windows but I think the best decompiler is "Flash Decompiler" by Eltima (for windows only unfortunatly). This one will put your timeline back together almost exactly how it was originally (most of the time).

I've got http://www.sothink.com and its been really great so far. I've had no complaints. Flash Decompiler had issues and didn't give you an fla before. But I see now that it does. But I like sothink.

SoThinks is the best. But it does butcher many of the objects and you need to rename everything, cause the AS to be crap
