Maybe there is too much money and pressure I dunno.
But even do this. Watch the first 5 minutes of a New Hope and the first 5 of even the latest installment.
A New Hope was simple, clean, real. Vader walks into the ship flanked by a few stormtroopers. They are serious you can hear it in the lines they deliver and it follows thru. It's very tense and effective.
In the new ones ijust getting stupid. You have the space battle that is beautiful but like 3d toys and candy canes flying around. These cartoon sounds coming off everything from the ships to the lasers. New Hope kept it minimal to a tiefight buzzing by, a light saber, the squirt of lasers.
Too much money and technology its killing it.

And yeah Im sure they would have lifelike bots posing even as humans, it's obvious they have the technology with the real prostetics they kick out.
But soliders and guards, etc.? Even real human body guards and secret service, etc. are trined to act like robots for a reason.

maybe more on a spylife then (gosh, details, details :)) anyways, i'm gonna see sw6 this week, yeah 6, not 3, fuckers, i'm not gonna be part of this prequal hype so i have to see it for myself. imo sw and human traits in robots, not a good combo, c3po was already borderlining it in.

CP3O is spot on, he's really a futureistic robotic butler or servant... He's like a tin and thin Mr. Belvidear. His neurosis is a bit overboard but his having character and human emotion was a plus since he needed to feel empathy towards his owner. In NH, the bots were great, they made sense. CP30 finds himself in all these situations that make him freak out, but its do in part to his programming, he wasnt meant to be in these types of stressful situations.
I think the whole styling of NH was groundbreaking not only for a movie but for even for culture in general, fashion, etc.
Im not trying to ruin it for you and def go see it, just dont have high hopes.
- rabattski0
dude, don't worry, my hopes were destroyed by the ewoks from 3 already (mortals will call it 6). :)
- rabattski0
hold on, ewoks started it, jar jar totally finished it. jar jar ruined everything starwars.

well I agree somewhat.
I think SW ended at 6 (ok 3). Everything after that was merchandising including the prequels.
I've seen Jar-jar hate and it's justified in so many levels. But Ewoks are alright at least I like them. The whole future primative thing was nice... to see a planet like endor, green and undeveloped with natives. They may have pushed a little far with how cute they tried to make them, but overall I like it.
Jedi was a great movie still. Empire was my favorite but Jedi is still great SW, the last at that.

Also there have been reports that Carrie Fisher was spotted railed out of her brain on expensive coke and boo's running around posh holliwood clubs telling everyone shes the real leia and not to go see the trash they have been putting out that is modern starwars.

your enter responce thing is a weak attempt at fad'dom.
I may push the white woman stuff a bit more but your asking too much now.
- rabattski0
ok, i must admit, i do happen to like those critters, it's just the ending of return of the the jedi, that whole dancing bonfire celebration w/ the ewoks that turned me of. like, wow, how do we fuck up a movie in one scene. since then ewoks have been on my blacklist. but as said, heavily topped by jar jar. biggest movie mistake ever.

how do you know i'm just not trying to draw wasted attention to myself whilst also annoying my dear NT pals?

another thing, back to emotional robots, marvin works for me (in the books, please) as an emotional robot, while c3po, well, he is imo a bit of a cunt, i like him though, don't get me wrong, but marvin works much better due to the story.

maaaan... ya'll got me reading this schlub!
What about the two Ewok adventures that followed R of the J?
- rabattski0
bad bad bad. doesn't even count.

yeah cp3o is what he is, but in essence he is character and emulated emotion in a bot and for purpose.
I like the ewok celebration in jedi. It paints a nice picture of Endor, the planet itself and its inhabitants spirit and peace.
I dunno, it just had a really nice feeling for me to leave off that way. The fact I was a little kid may have helped to engrain a positive image but it lasts to this day. Maybe if they toned down the celebration just a bit it would be alright. but the image of sunset, laterns, celebrating tribes that won independance is cool.

What ewok adventures are u talking about?
I don't like how Yoda went out either I should say, they killed him off like ET, making some olf rubber puppet get all sick and discolored before dying. Maybe if the Jedi had a ritual for dying, like they go off on a journey by themselves and don't return, or just something different than fading out like that.
- rabattski0
they did this weird ewok spinoff after starwars w/ kids and shit. evil movie. beyond crap.
- ********0
huh? spinoff?
it wasnt in theatres then cause I would have heard about it. Maybe that helped drive ewoks image into the ground or something?
