I know nothing about kung fu...like the way it sounds...and there is an school2 miles from my house...e.g. run to kung fu, kung fu for a couple hours, run home....I lived in Thailand for 3 years I think Muay Thai combined with Brazilian ju jitsu is definitely the way to go for self defense...

oh come on, if you're any sort of decent fighter, throwing a punch isn't going to expose your back. I'd be much more concerned with protecting my head rather than my lower back anyway.
