yes, the mela was a big (big!) bangladeshi party in brick lane. very much the gorgeous george constituency. apparently there were 80,000 people there.
i really wanted to go, but didn't wake up until it was almost over. and i was in a bit of a fragile state to be dealing with vast crowds and industrial-decibel bangra (sp?).

Ah, the mela. No I didn't go. Went to one in Leith once. They had bangra dance competitions and everything. I didn't win though.
