I never understood the ipod photo... you cant take pictures with it. Just get a regular.

that mRobe looks pretty kewl but not sure how i'd go sourcing one >> $400 for a 40 gig iPhoto would be kewl but in Brisvegas they're still sellin the 20gig iPod for $499 at most places so $450 for a 30gig iPhoto is a pretty good deal

neither did I until I bought it (I just wanted the biggest I could afford)...
but now I see its potential. I take a large amount of digital photography - you can buy a little card reader that slots into the top of the ipod photo, which effectively converts it into an image dump.
So its useful if you don't have many memory cards and you need to offload your photos somewhere whilst on the road.

I picked up a *40*Gb iPod Photo about 3 weeks ago. They've just been discontinued, but are still supported and available in some outlets.
It cost me £210 - less than $400 - you may want to shop around before you have to settle for a 30Gb.

the iPod photo is useless if you ask me, 95% of the time you are gonna listen to music, the last five you are gonna show photos to the family, and if you don't have new photos every time they are around, they are gonna complain and you will get fed up with it
