Hello all,
Trying to come up with ideas to improve our company website! We are a medium-sized web design firm that focuses heavily on usability and development:
I know it's not the most exciting site in the world, but usability, and a conservative approach, sells these days. We are probably looking more at content rather than design change at this point, but I wanted to get some qualified feedback from other designers.

Ha ha - not neccessarily saying I agree with it . Also, keep in mind that I didn't design the site - but I understand that it does appeal to a specific market. Wondering if anyone had any ideas on how we could make it better for that audience.

design wise I'd have to say it's an amazingly dull and dated looking site. I think taking the text down a shade or two would work nicely and as long as you don't go too far, will still be readable.
I went to the case studies section and the first thing I thought was that you've done a piece of work for CorbisMotion and the big selling point of that case study is that sales have been up 17x since launch. This should be at the top, I hate seeing case studies where the actual site and key info is scrolled off the bottom of the screen.
Perhaps also consider if you're focussing on usability, your site should make use of accesskeys for some of the links / navigation?
Also, the homepage and contact page (and I assume others too) do not validate, again, a big consideration if you're appealing to a wide and diverse market. There are lots of simple things like images missing alt tags etc.
Hope it doesn't sound too critical and that it helps in some way :)

why is your portfolio buried?...i had to go to the careers section to find it...the pdf case studies are nice, but a more robust online folio of some sort would be nice
