Has anyone bought software through a site like this? Is this safe/legal/legit/on the down low/okay?
They have Photoshop CS for $99.00 download only.
They also list Macromedia Studio MX at $69.95.Thoughts?

in general no. it is illegal, pirated software.
the only way it is legit is if they purchased all the software in bulk at full price and are simply "taking a bath" on selling it at undercut prices.
there is no way to buy a copy of $1000 software and sell it for $100 and make money.
that is a loss of 900 bucks per license.
my guess, it's pirated. and, probably loaded with malicious apps, or you may just send your cash into a black-hole money pit and not get a copy of shit.
your only legal options are as follows, 1) buy the full price, official version 2) buy the cheaper "student" version, or 3) join the linux, foss movement.

Hehe, look at part of their Terms & Conditions:
---------
9. Terms of Software Use9.1 You understand that in order for iBackups.net to make you a copy of any software, you acknowledge that you are the legal owner of this same software, and are looking to just make a new copy for archival (backup) purposes only. You also agree to destroy all copies of the software in the event it is ever no longer voluntarily in your possession. You understand that only the licensed owner (with a valid serial number, where applicable) of the various software found on iBackups.net may use the services located here.
-----------------So theoretically you buy their files so you have a "backup" of your own files. I think they think many people were born yesterday!

nice. didn't read the tos. haha. they count on the fact that no one ever reads tos, eula's or anything long and boring.
:)
so, in other words, they own a single copy or so and burn you a disc when you order.
you are paying $100 for a cdr of adobe cs.

Yah, nice catch they have.
If you bought the software legit in the first place and have the CD, why would you need a backup?
You would have just installed the software once and put the disc back in the case.

yup. although, i make a backup disk of all software purchased at work. just in case. which is legal according to the standard eula.
although, on the latest copy of adobe audition (used to be cool edit | audition is adobe's professional audio editor) we purchased, i noticed the cd has "disk copy protection" on the label.
i haven't tried to make a backup of it yet, but i'll see if it gives me trouble.
