French construction group Eiffage - that built the Eiffel Tower - financed the project in return for the right to collect receipts from a bridge toll for 75 years.

They constructed it by sliding the road over the pillars.... crazy.
The BBC made a point of saying how it was finished on time, on budget, and privately financed...

That bridge is stunning.
Hard to believe that Foster is behind the gawd-ugly redevelopment of Spitalfields market.
I saw that over the weekend for the first time in months.

I really dislike most of Foster's work but the sheer size of that thing.... takes my breath away.

most expensive suicide by jumping of a bridge though since you have to pay toll. but it is it worth i guess. :)
