i dont think people even noticed the fact that i didnt diss threadless
nor abercrombie and fitch
in conclusion children what have we learned.
its not cool to exclude people from your world, but it will happen, and when it does, it will raise some peoples concern, so be prepared for that
abercrombie are not racists like von dutch is, but blacks still rock von dutch...and dont do the same for abercrombie
read my first fuckin post, and you'll see that a person's personal views are of no concern of mine

That's how shit is sometimes. It's not a racist thing, they are just targeting their audience. I'm so sick of this politically correct bullshit.

see my thing is, i dont lean towards any side first of all, but when i see a situation be predominately whatever race, in this case of media, white is normally the color of the people, and i just get sad not only because i'm black, but because i see movies like, gladiotor, troy, and alexander, the first two i saw and believe are oscar worthy material ie the main characters did an amazing job, but anyway these type of movies, and their is never any other race getting movies like this, its so fucked up...now on some legal shit, the staff is the same way [for those that pick out legal things like that, hinthint for my little lawyer friend]
but here's something i was dealing w/ for some time, and wrote about in my memoir,
on a fact base only for a movie that i adore and plan on purchasing when i can, passions of the christ, now every other movie for christ was the same, white cast, but what i dont understand is, they fuckin know where Jesus was born, if you go there now, the people are not white, as in their skin color, what race they are does not matter, but their skin is of a darker color, the one thing i took from social studies is, when you move closer to the imaginary line we call the equator, it gets hotter.
the sun tans
what the fuck, this gives me the best description of the media is, dishonest.
;)
a corporation is only existing to keep a parent corporation.
blah
what is a apple bottom or shop ecko, to 30k tommy hillfigger, but what clothing line could i wear then that would be of my color? there really werent any and if there were, they werent in a place where i could buy them, if i didnt wear tommy hill, i'd of been wearing fruit of the loom, and are the two very different, i dont mean that in a bad way, because i did see tommy w/ a black person celebrity forget who, oh beyonce, but i could care less if a designer is racist.
i dont really care, yet it kinda does make me not want to wear their clothes after i find out...i never judge them, and would speak to them, like i speak to my coworkers...i'll social, or work w/ anyone that can hold a conversation.

i missed, 'i wore tommy hillfigger when it was a trend'
and i meant socialize or work
that was for my darlin leah,
"i gotta work on my grammar now, i'll try...
but those are things you forget when you high"one.

ps:conflicting opinions ahead
i dont know why so many people misinterpretted the inital post, i understood it right away, but i guess its because you litter your opinions with serious and non serious material so people dont know when to take u seriously. dont expect to warrant a proper discussion if you're gonna be like that.
growing up brown in pop culture hasn't been easy. for fuck's sakes i had to pretend Bulletproof Vest from the cartoon C.O.P.S. was indian so i could relate ;p. ask me today and im telling you Bulletproof vest consumes masla dosa in massive dosages. But one thing i realized was although there is a massive amount of racial ish going on in north america, people will represent on their ad what they are, meaning like when you were a kid and had to draw u, what crayons did you use to draw yourself?
One disheartening thing i remember was being in junior kindergarten and grabbing a crayon and it was called "flesh", yet it was peach in color... so i got a lyric like "been a way for eons, cause my flesh aint considered flesh on crayola crayons."
you can't win. im a guy and i feel sorry for the average women because of the models in these ads, they suffer with their self image just as well. south asians, east asians, latinos, all people have stereotypes. you can't win. too fat, too skinny too short, to acne, you can't win. if i was black, i wouldnt want a black person to be associated with the entertainment business whenever they're showcased on tv. obviously there's talented black in entertainment, but why do they only have to be known for that? in those terms this is a very backwards society. one of my favorite rappers is canibus...dude is brilliant, a true poet, a computer science rocket science type dude. what is awesome about him is he doesnt have to dumb down his message, something that those that control music want to do as it sells...but he's been blacklisted cause of that stupid ll fiasco but i digress..
my rolemodel growing up was jackie robinsoni dont even like baseball, but it was his struggle of being that 1 in a million thing. I do believe that hollywood is nasty and enjoys the stereotypes that we keep subscribing to. But the essence of this is its stupid to look at hollywood as rolemodel type ish, though inevitably, it is.
about ambercrombie...who gives a phuck...i think a company should be allowed to present its image however it wants, its been done for years. channel aint gonna pics of rosanne bar looking women in plaid in their ads...its a disgusting thing about marketing but its reality.
my answer. incorporate YOURSELF into YOUR design. and dont wait for people to catch up to you.
to put things in perspective, a lot of people only see/notice what they are. maybe i can offer u a perspective that u might not have thought of before: when was the last time in hollywood you saw an east indian in a non typical role? non typical meaning not a taxi driver or some ad in a beneton commercial. well that movie harold and kumar would be an example (and that brought joy to me for both types of asians) but prior to that watch m knight movies. you'l see brownies scattered in his movies, just in the background, doing nothing extrodinary. and what's m. knight's color? that's all i gotta say.
ps: i've seen a monumental shift in cartoons these days, its quite common to see minorities everywhere that soon they wont even be considered minorities. so im positive.
ps2: you have no right to get upset at the responses you've gotten if you expect people to read your mind when you're serious vs when you're sarcastic on a message board. ok, this is the last serious post i make ever
peace

yeah i just re-read the first post of this thread and it still sounds backwards. sounds like you're calling threadless racist. you even linked it at the end of your post.. i guess i just dont 'get it'
