Anyone know if there's a fairly solid way to bring a dhtml menu 'over' a flash area, rather than vanish under it? For the moment, I see it as only possible on IE-PC.
There's a thread here on this, but rather old.

i had the same problem a while back...technically cause flash is a plugin it will always sit on top of the page... when i researched there is no cross browser way of doing this... there are only 2 real alternatives:
1) switch the flash movie 2 a static image when the dtml layer appears over the area..and back 2 the swf when the layer is not there
2) apply the layers you want in swf movies and trigger them using events from html..

Ugh. So I guess that's a no then.
I'm not so hot on flash so I don't think "layers in the flash" triggered by DHTML is gonna be an option. Nor the other.
Oh well.

there is a piece of software you can buy which lets you do it. It works in virtually every browser. I used it once but had to get a programmer to help me cos its asp shit. Cant remember what its called but its definately possible.
