I posted a few weeks ago about my building manager being threatened with a knife. Well later that night I saw I guy get stabbed at London Bridge. Only today has a call for witnesses board been put up at the station. I called three times - no fucking answer. When I did get someone, they were completely uninterested in anything I had to say... I was standing right there... and this bobby on the phone is all "I suppose I had better take your number..." He didn't even prompt me for a description...
I'm wondering why I bothered...

thats severe, but compared to some places I have lived, UK coppers are one of the best around.
Move to australia, you get shot for a traffic offence by a 18 yr old with acne.

the problem here is you see coppers everywhere you go and they do fuck all.
when I lived in Zürich's notorious Langstrasse you rarely saw any five-oh at all but when you did it was ACTION:
"Up against the wall! Empty your pockets!"
Plasticuffed wrists, riot shields, etc etc sometimes even tear gas and rubber bullets AND they all had pistols and are trained to use them - not that I can ever remember them ever using them.
crime rate in Zürich is lower than in hte village my dad lives in in Aberdeenshire... my conclusion uk polis are crap at what they do...

British police have too much paperwork to do - even for the most minor offences. Thats why they are reluctant. Every one is suing them these days

I've never had a problem with them until now. But love them or hate them - one day you'll need them and might be glad.

yeah my mate got hit in the head with a hammer by this girls dad (she phoned him cuz my mate cracked some joke and she couldnt hack it..) and he basicaly beat the crap outa him.....they reported it and even gave them the name of the girls dad but nuttin was done (this was last october) until about 3 weeks ago when they sed they wer ready to look at his case by which time he couldnt be arsed to go into it all again...
